User’s guide
As a registered user you are encouraged to submit content to the UN Alliance of Civilizations Media Literacy Education clearinghouse.
First step: please register – using the "log in" link on the upper right corner
Second: Reply to the email that the system will send.
Then: You’ll be able to "Log in" using your User’s name & password.
REMEMBER:
ALL NEW CONTENT WILL NEED TO BE APPROVED BY THE AOC SECRETARIAT IN COLLABORATION WITH ONE PARTNER ORGANIZATION BEFORE BEING PUBLISHED. THIS MIGHT TAKE 1 TO 3 DAYS.
Click on the “Log in” symbol at the upper right corner.
Write in your name and password
Click on the arrow
When you see a red “X” on the upper right corner, next to your user name: you are logged in (FIGURE 1)
Once logged in you will be able to add content to the site. You will also be able to edit the content that you have already uploaded.
If you wish to add information on an ORGANIZATION, RESOURCE or EVENT (please confirm -use the search- that they are not already listed in the clearinghouse)
b) On the upper left side you’ll see the “User’s Menu” (FIGURE 3)
Click on “Add Entry”
The “Add Organization” form will appear (FIGURE 4)
Fill the information in the spaces (some are mandatory, such as “Website”). Provide as much information as you can, but remember that the clearinghouse will link to the site of the actual organization you are providing information for. No need to be exhaustive on your description.
On the “Website” field, remember to type http:// or other variations, www. alone will not be useful as a link.
If you have access to the logo of the organization we recommend to upload it (FIGURE 5)
Keywords: please seperate with "," each keyword. The search engine of the clearinghouse looks for words on the title and on the Keywords section of the entry.
Select the different topics relevant to the Organization you are submitting. An organization could be specialized on the three topics: Media Literacy Education, Media Education Policy and Youth Media. Or on two, or only on one of these topics. Please be careful when making your selection. (FIGURE 6)
“Entry Language” refers to the language you have used to enter the information. For example, you could have entered information about a Danish organization, linking your entry to the Danish language website of this organization, but your entry’s information might have been written in English. In this case you would choose “English” as the “Entry Language” (FIGURE 7)
Once you are ready to publish the information you have written, click on the green arrow icon on the upper right corner of the form. (FIGURE 8)
If you click on the red “X” you will discard the information you have written.
The system will bring you to your Manage Organizations section (FIGURE 9)

You’ll notice a small red “X” on the right of your new entry line (FIGURE 10).
That means that your entry has been added to the clearinghouse database but it is not yet published on the public site. An Administrator will receive your entry, verify that it is relevant to the general purpose of the UN Alliance of Civilizations Media Literacy Clearinghouse, and authorize its publication. If authorized, the system will include your new entry within 36 hours.
Approved entries have a green “v” on their entry line.
If you wish to enter another ORGANIZATION, please follow the instructions above.
Once you have finished, click on “Home”.
If you wish to add information about a RESOURCE (please confirm that the resource is not already listed in the clearinghouse)

On the “Link” field, remember to type http:// or other variations, www. alone will not be useful as a link.
Select the different topics relevant to the Resource you are submitting. A resource could be relevant to the three topics: Media Literacy Education, Media Education Policy and Youth Media. Or to two, or only to one of these topics. Please be careful when making your selection. (FIGURE 6)

Navigating the top menu -in Media Literacy Education, Media Education Policy or Youth Media- click in “Events”(FIGURE 18)

Fill the information in the spaces (some are mandatory, such as “From/To”, “City”). Provide as much information as you can, but remember that the clearinghouse will link to the site of the actual event you are providing information about. No need to be exhaustive on your description.
On the “Webside” field, remember to type http:// or other variations, www. alone will not be useful as a link.
Click on the calendar icon to select “From/to” (FIGURE 21)
Select the different topics relevant to the Event you are submitting. An Event could be relevant to the three topics: Media Literacy Education, Media Education Policy and Youth Media. Or to two, or only to one of these topics. Please be careful when making your selection. (FIGURE 6)

Once logged in you will be able to edit and update the content that you have previously
uploaded.
Managing (editing and updating) Resources
From “Manager Menu” click on “Manage resources” (FIGURE 26)
The “Manage Resources” file will show (FIGURE 27). Only Resources that you (as a Registered User) have entered will be seen.
Click on the entry that you want to update/edit.
The “Edit Resource” page will open, displaying the resource that you have selected to edit (FIGURE 28)
Edit/update the information.
Once you are ready to publish the information you have updated, click on the green arrow icon on the upper right corner of the form.
The system will bring you to your Manage Resources section.

That means that the new (edited) version of your entry has been added to the clearinghouse database but it is not yet published on the public site. An Administrator will receive your newly edited entry, verify that it is relevant to the general purpose of the UN Alliance of Civilizations Media Literacy Clearinghouse, and authorize its publication. If authorized, the system will include your new entry within 36 hours.

Proceed on the same manner to edit and update your entries on ORGANIZATIONS (“Manage Organizations”) and EVENTS (“Manage Events”)
You can change your password or email address.
From the User’s Menu, click on “Update Profile”
Write the new password or/and email address.
Click “Update”
