“Rio Media is an international reference center in media for children and adolescents affiliated with the Media and Education department at MULTIRIO, Rio de Janeiro’s municipal multimedia agency.
It was set up in April 2004 during the 4th World Summit on Media for Children and Adolescents with the aim of building an international network between people and institutions interested in research, production and discussion quality media for children and adolescents.
Its pioneering, groundbreaking work consists of identifying, compiling, organizing and especially providing access to media research, experiments and products. The material is selected and distributed in six key areas: TV and video, publications, radio, internet, film and electronic games. Rio Media also provides consultancy services for producers and public policy makers for production and organizations” (Retrieved from ‘WHAT IS IT’ on August 26, 2008 from http://www.multirio.rj.gov.br/portal/riomidia/index.asp?idioma=2)
