“Media e Literacia” is a project built between Portugal and Brazil during Raquel Pacheco’s master’s program at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. The first priority was to give voice to marginalised young people and to transform their lives through education and media. This is how the network Media e Literacia was created. It is currently involved in 3 projects. The first “Inventar com a Diferença”
(Creating with a difference), is a degree in Brazil that connects cinema and informal education. “Jovens Protagonistas” (Youth Protagonist), is a project enabling children and teenagers in prisoner systems to produce videos. “Observatório” (Observatory), is a project that provides space to discuss material produced by television in Brazil and to create and share high quality educational materials online.
