The Journal of Children and Media is an online journal available through Informaworld.com, which is the online publications platform for the Taylor & Francis Group and Informa Healthcare.
Journal of Children and Media is an international, interdisciplinary, multi-method, peer-reviewed publication. It provides a space for discussion to scholars and professionals studying media in the lives of children across theoretical and empirical traditions. The journal looks at children as consumers of media, representations of children in the media, and media organizations and productions for children as well as by them. It centers its discussion on the interaction between children and media in local, national, and global contexts, as well as on concern for diversity issues.
Free samples of the journal are available online. Subscription – either personal or institutional – is required to obtain full issues or articles. Personal submissions of original manuscripts or short pieces for the “Review and Commentary” portion of the magazine are accepted, under the condition that they have not been published in any other journal.
