Martin Scorsese’s Academy award-winning “Hugo 3D” is based on Brian Selznick’s “The Invention of Hugo Cabret”, winner of the prestigious Caldecott Medal. The book mixes historical fiction with picture book and graphic novel. The film won five Oscars for art direction and technical excellence and demands to be seen in 3D. It reconnects the viewer with the dream-like magic of cinema. The day school will start with a screening of “Hugo 3D” and then explores how the book, film and historical background can be used in the primary and secondary curriculum.
