Doha Centre for Media Freedom organizes a specialized Media & Information Literacy Training the Trainers workshop

The Doha Centre for Media Freedom (DCMF) is set to organize a specialized “Training the Trainers” workshop for its Media & Information Literacy programme from 12th till 16th May in the Concorde Hotel Doha. Participants include Qatari trainers and journalists from various organizations & media outlets such as Qatar University, Arabic daily Al-Sharq, Aljazeera Channel, as well as trainers from several GCC & Arab countries. The workshop aims to train trainers to teach students about media & information literacy, as part of the centre’s effort to integrate it as a subject in school curriculums in Qatar.
DR. Rawia Al Humaidan will conduct the training. She is a lecturer and an academic researcher in the field of (Media and information literacy), and (the relationship between children and media & information technology). In addition, she is specialized in media technology implementation, communication, and education at Kuwait university. Also she is the chairman of the organization committee of the first international media literacy conference in Kuwait. Dr. Alhumaidan has delivered many training workshops on Media literacy, and information technology as well as an introduction of media concept, in many countries; such as the a conference in USA, New York (2008) on “Media literacy in the Middle East”, and “Media literacy and identity” in Doha (2009).
