These are among the many impacts of youth media programs, including news literacy programming, discussed at the April 29, 2014, “Power of Youth Voice Evidence and Action” convening of more than 100 stakeholders in youth development and youth media, including educators, funders and policymakers.
During the event, results from “Life After Youth Media: Insights about Program Influence into Adulthood” were shared. The study was commissioned by the Chicago Youth Voices Network (CYVN) and conducted by Heartland Alliance’s Social Impact Research Center and interviewed more than 200 alumni of Chicago youth media programs.
