UN Radio Special Project: 15

August 6, 2010, Filed Under: Media Education Policy, Resources, Youth Media

Language: English
Source: UN Radio
Author: Michele Du Bach

UN Radio, in partnership with UNFPA and UNIFEM, tells the stories of 15-year old girls around the world. We hear about their problems, their hopes and their dreams. These are girls born at the time the Beijing World Conference on Women reached landmark agreements on gender quality and women’s empowerment (Beijing +15). They were 5 years old when the UN committed to achieving the Millennium Development Goals in 15 years. Today, these young girls represent an enormous potential resource for their countries and the world.
