This paper investigates existing examples and literature to the use of social media and user-generated content in post-conflict peacebuilding. First it provides an overview of general literature on the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in peacebuilding. Secondly it investigates the concepts of user-generated content (UGC) and social media and provides examples from the Arab spring as to the use of social media and UGC. Lastly it provides recommendations as to the use of user-generated content and social media in DDR.
