We’re in the midst of a digital revolution that is transforming our lives and opening new growth opportunities for us all. As our society evolves, so must our way of thinking. To be a truly global citizen, we must first understand what motivates our people and our culture.

That is why we asked more than 12,000 young adults, aged 18-30, across 27 countries, their feelings about the world in which they live, how technology impacts their lives and their personal goals and dreams.

The findings reveal a generation that is constantly connected, tech savvy, optimistic and believe strongly that technology creates opportunities for all. Yet, Millennials also express concern about the economy, entering the workforce, personal freedoms, and their planet. Despite these concerns, this is perhaps the first evidence of an entire generation who now feel that technology can make a difference in the world.

Telefónica in partnership with The Financial Times commissioned 12.171 online quantitative interviews among Millennials, aged 18-30, accross 27 countries in six regions. Penn Schoen Berland conducted the survey from 11 January – 4 February 2013.

Country sample sizes represented in global number are weighted by the percent of the population in each country with access to the Internet. The global margin of error is +/- 9 percent.
