The report “Promoting digital literacy. Understanding digital literacy” carried out by the UAB focuses on: a) identify and analyze various successful and innovative experiences in promoting digital and media literacy; b) analyze strengths and weaknesses of these mentioned experiences, and c) develop recommendations for the promoting digital literacy.
The document sets out the factors to consider in developing a digital culture: context, relevance and motivation of the users, encourage critical awareness and participation through platforms of participation and shared responsibility between citizens and the production system of ICT industry; the education and protection for users, equilibrium and solidarity of action to achieve equitable access to ICT, and a real institutional renewal.
