An Exploratory Study of Media Literacy in Egypt
Children worldwide are surrounded by many forms of media. A large number of countries have introduced concepts of media literacy in their national curriculum, and educators are now alert to the importance of teaching media in classrooms and its immense benefits. In order to explore the possibility of applying media literacy in Egypt, it is important to first delve into an under-researched area—understanding the skills children actually employ when deciphering media messages. This research gives insight into how children watch dramas and commercials and how these messages are cognitively analyzed.
