Social media is significantly altering the nature of human interaction and the manner in which individuals and communities connect, communicate and use information. Whilst a small but growing body of literature has begun to explore people’s social media use in everyday life from the perspectives of communication or media studies and human information behaviour, very little research has investigated the phenomenon from the domain of information experience. This project will fill this gap. It will explore people’s information experiences in one of the world’s most popular social media platforms, Twitter.
