Youth Media Visions is intended to be a useful resource for people interested in exploring the intersection of youth media, education and creation. It presents seven experiences developed by educators, social activists and media creators, who within their organizations work along with young people and media production.

This book is the result of Conversations Across Cultures, and an international symposium that included an exhibition and workshop for educators. The symposium was co-organized by Teachers Colleges Columbia University and United Nations Alliance of Civilizations on April 2013. The main purpose of the initiative was to explore the pedagogic potentialities of learning with and from media in formal and informal educational settings. Seven organizations representing different areas of the world were invited to participate. They develop youth media production initiatives as a way to address social issues relevant to their communities such as diversity, migration and social inclusion. Each of the participating organizations has been invited to contribute with an article to this publication.

The seven youth media initiatives presented are:
Wakiponi Mobile, Canada
A Bao A Qu, Spain
The OneMinutesJr., UNICEF
CHINH, India
The Educational Video Center, USA
Fundación Kine, Argentina
PLURAL+, UNAOC-IOM
