Cinema ongoing education is a program of film schools and public institutions of Catalonia in 2005. Since then brings youth to the art of film through intervention in schools film professionals (directors, cinematographers, screenwriters, editors …). During these years of experience, participated in the workshops of Cinema ongoing over 1500 students, nearly 80 teachers and 20 film professionals.
The project is divided into three main areas:
– Workshops. Teach together a professional team of teachers and a cinema. Carried out with pupils aged between 9 and 18 years of diverse cultural and socioeconomic contexts.
– Laboratory experiments and research, and web resources www.fentcinema.org to work in film education.
– Training for teachers.
Objectives
Current Cinema is a commitment to art and culture through education, a commitment to education in the arts and culture. ongoing Cinema wants to form a pedagogy of cinema and film.
Its objectives are:
– Shape of film as a teaching establishment, art and culture, which is fruitful in very different contexts.
– Introduce film professionals in primary and secondary schools as transmitters of their office, the cinema and esteem the great filmmakers of all time.
– Enabling access to culture and filmmaking in various geographical contexts.
– Foster the discovery of the young film heritage and cultures of all time.
– Provide resources that will enable young people to use reflective, creative and artistic of media: photography and video camera, sound equipment, software installation, etc..
– Train spectators critical, creative, capable of independent judgment and enjoy various film events.
– Exploring the pedagogical power of film in the schools and develop educational values.
– To train, guide and advise teachers on applications of film in education.
– To encourage the exchange and reflection on transfer between film professionals.
– Create a structure and a team that makes Cinema ongoing real Applied Research Laboratory, generating materials, methods and ideas from the experiences of the workshop.
– Generate cultural activities related workshops (screenings, exhibitions, etc..) That affect the environment, especially in the most difficult situations with access to culture.
– Developing cultural cooperation and exchange of experiences in the field of teaching cinema with European organizations and institutions linked to the project Le Theater, A hundred years of Youth . Currently working in collaboration with France, Germany, Britain, Italy, Portugal and Brazil.
A commitment to the future of film
Cinema ongoing part of an initial observation: it is urgent that the film reaches more young people as a mere consumer product, but as an art, a culture and trade. It is essential to train spectators critical, creative and capable of self-judgment, and that children and young people to discover the media as a tool of artistic creation and expression.
