媒介素养教育——培养公众对传媒信息的选择能力

现代社会,媒体不仅是公众获取知识的重要通道,也是公众认知社会与世界最重要的凭借,因而也成为能够影响国民世界观、价值观的重要因素。

面对市场经济条件下媒体的商业化运行,面对媒介数量的高速增长和传媒信息内容的无限量增加,如何引导或创造条件使公众使社会有能力科学地、理性地接触和使用媒介,就成为一个现实问题。于是便有了媒介素养(或媒体素养)(Media Literacy)的概念以及媒介素养教育一说。在学术界,比较认同英国学者利维斯和汤普森1933年所著的《文化与环境:批判意识的培养》是媒介素养教育的起点。照此,西方国家的媒介素养教育已经历了七十多年的发展。
