The Clearinghouse is a knowledge centre informing different user groups about current research and practices in the field of children, youth and media.
The aim is to increase awareness and knowledge in the field, thereby providing a basis for relevant policy-making, contributing to a constructive public debate, and enhancing children’s and young people’s media literacy and media competence.
The main activities of the Clearinghouse are publishing of books, reports, newsletters, joint projects and databases. A global network is fundamental to the work of the Clearinghouse, now with over 1000 participants (researchers, media professionals, politicians, educators, …) in more than 100 countries. The Clearinghouse was established in 1997 and the activities are carried out in co-operation with UNESCO by means of a MoU.
