The Finnish Society on Media Education (FSME) aims to support and develop the field of research and practices concerning media literacy education, contribute to the public debate and provide opportunities to share media education experiences online and offline nationally and globally. We organise events, update an informative website in three languages and co-operate in national and international networks. The Finnish Society on Media Education is a global actor and a member of UN-Alliance of Civilizations Media Literacy Education Clearinghouse and in cooperation with International Clearinghouse on Children, Youth and Media. Our work is supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture and by our members.
Mediaeducation.fi, administrated by the FSME focuses on spreading information about media literacy education. The site is aimed at professionals working with children and youth, as well as for academic professionals interested in the research on media literacy. The site works in three languages – English, Finnish and Swedish. In addition, we spread information on social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Slideshare) to thousands of followers.
