The Russian Association for Film and Media Education is a public association comprised of 300 schoolteachers, professors, leaders of film-clubs, etc. As an Association, it was established in 1988 under the auspices of the Russian Federation Ministry of Education and Science. However, initially it was functioning as a Russian Association for Film Education under the Union of Filmmakers.
The areas of Association’s interest are media literacy practice in schools and universities; media education projects and presentations; media education school and university programs, teacher training programs; media education conference and seminars; media education publications; media education researches; media education webs, and media education festivals.
