“Iran’s National ICT Education Plan: an Overview of the Possibilities, Problems, and the Programs”
Presented by Kayvan Kousha of the University of Tehran and Mahshid Abdoli of the National Library of Iran, the paper examines the status of the first and most significant national ICT education plan in Iran, termed Iran’s National Information and Communication Technologies Agenda (INICTA). The plan intends to make a significant change in the direction of teaching and learning practices, especially in schools. The overall INICTA mission includes objectives such as fostering the development of economic, social and cultural situation in Iran by improving the infrastructure of Iran’s information and communication technology, increasing the sector’s economic and financial capabilities and promoting the private sector’s participation in the ICT market.
