Mediappro (“media appropriation”) is an international collaborative applied research project for media education. Spanning from 2005-2006, universities, government ministries, foundations and other institutions in nine European countries – Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, France, Greece, Italy, Poland, Portugal, and the United Kingdom – utilized their experience in media education to explore how young people between the ages of 12-18 appropriate digital media. Included in the study were such media forms as the Internet, mobile phones and video games. The Mediappro website contains access to the study’s final report as well as information about its final conference of June 12th, 2006.
