The Media That Matters Film Festival is an annual film festival held in New York City that showcases the work of young producers and directors who have contributed through film to the field of social awareness. The films, all under eight minutes in length, represent diversity in style and content, with documentaries, music videos, animations, and experimental work all included in the festival. The films, sorted by pertinent issue, encompass criminal justice, economic justice, environment, family & society, gay/lesbian, gender/women, health/health advocacy, human rights, immigration, international, media, politics/government, racial justice, religious freedom, and youth issues.
