Media Literacy Now is the leading national advocacy organization for media literacy education policy in the United States. Through grassroots support and resources for state-by-state media literacy legislation we empower people to push for – and win – comprehensive media literacy education for their state’s schools.
About Us
Media Literacy is critical to the health and well-being of America’s children, as well as to their future participation in the civic and economic life of a democracy. Media Literacy Now is a non-profit organization that sparks grassroots and legislative activity in each state to get broad-based, comprehensive Media Literacy into schools as a matter of policy. We are building a movement of people calling for change in education systems across the United States to ensure all K-12 students receive the comprehensive media literacy education and skills they need to have productive, safe and healthy lives in a global media age. Media Literacy Now is inspiring policy action in states across the country and providing structure and resources that lower the barriers to entry for activists.

Goal
Improving Media Literacy among children and young adults requires progress in many areas. The goal of Media Literacy Now is to put the issue of Media Literacy on the public policy agenda in each state in the U.S. to raise awareness about the urgent and critical need for students to learn key 21st century skills. We are using the vehicle of legislation to ignite passion, and generate directed action. Legislation is helping us build a critical mass of advocates.
