The prime objective of the Laboratory of Media Education is to integrate media literacy education into the curricula of secondary schools and to train school children in it. Laboratory is elaborating new methodological approaches on how to provide training specifically for school children, as well as conduct studies on critical thinking, development of intellectual and creative skills, and processing and translation of information from media resources. The Laboratory closely cooperates with the Russian Education Academy and with a number of secondary schools in Russia in which the Laboratory’s studies are being applied in practice.
