The Laboratori of Mitjans Interactius is a center specializing in the design and development of multimedia programs for training. Its scope includes interactive media, also called New Media. LMI works on projects financed by European and national public funds as well as through contracts with companies and institutions. These contracts are formalized through the Fundació Bosch i Gimpera, of the University of Barcelona.
Some members of LMI are also professors at the University of Barcelona, and apply their experience in teaching, in the area of New Technologies Applied to Education, Educational Technology and Communications. LMI has created a research group specializing in Educational Technology and Early Childhood Education at the University of Barcelona.
