The Children’s British Board of Film Classification (CBBFC), formed by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), is an interactive website which allows children to better understand and engage with how films are classified and rated by the BBFC. The main page of the website gives a description of all BBFC movie ratings, and allows users to click on different areas of the CBBFC headquarters to explore what goes on in different parts of the building (including the reception, the viewing room, and the decision room), each of which plays a part in rating movies.
Aimed at children between 8-12 years old, the website allows users to view movie trailers, give them BBFC ratings accordingly, write their own reviews for movies, and play games. Teaching materials are also provided, with a number of worksheets for use in the classroom.
