The Center for the Study of Children, Youth, and Media (CSYM) is a research center based at the University of London.
The Center for the Study of Children, Youth and Media:
undertakes funded research projects and consultancies;
holds conferences and public seminars;
organizes networks of researchers and practitioners;
contributes to the Institute’s MA Media program;
supervises doctoral research students;
and works with other institutions, nationally and internationally.
CSCYM recognizes that children are currently spending more time using media than they are doing other activities such as going to school. CSCYM takes this into consideration, and does not try to fight it but instead works to find ways to empower young people as critical consumers and as producers of their own media. Information about current and past projects can be found on the CSCYM website.
