Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI)

January 11, 2008, Filed Under: Media & Information Literacy, Organizations

Country: Australia
Language: English
Website: http://www.acmi.net.au/index.htm

The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) explores the moving image in all its forms – film, television, games, new media and art. Located in Melbourne, it is the one of very few international moving image centers in the world. It offers an award-winning exhibition program, and is the only cultural facility in the world with a dedicated game space where visitors can test and play video games using self-generated content – particularly digital storytelling.

For those who cannot visit the center, the ACMI website allows viewers to view past exhibitions, creative work from the production workshop, publications, and a variety of other resources focused on moving image media.
