The Gabinete de Comunicación y Educación (Communication and Education Research Group)calls for senior researches interested to apply for ICREA positions in order to join research projects on education and media development.
The Catalan Institute for Research and Advanced Studies (ICREA) has opened the call to 15 senior research positions to work in universities or research centers in Catalonia.
This call is for doctors qualified prior to 2009, with four years of international experience in pre-doctoral and/or post-doctoral research. Candidates should have a long record of research and leadership in the field.
Successful candidates will have a permanent working contract with ICREA. They will also be requested to make substantial contributions to their own areas of research and have a strong impact on the Catalan research system.
The Gabinete de Comunicación y Educación takes this call to support in the request of ICREA those doctors interested in working on research projects in Media Literacy, specifically in the European Media Literacy Education Study, EMEDUS, and in the Development of Media Literacy Indicators for Individuals, Corporations and Citizens, DINAMIC.
The Gabinete will support those candidates with research experience in the areas of media literacy, skills and assessment systems and abilities to:
-Analyze and interpret data related to formal and non-formal education
-Research literature in the field of formal and non-formal education
-Write technical reports: analysis, validation, synthesis,etc.
-Have knowledge on the field of media literacy and formal and non-formal education
-Master various techniques associated with research: designing indicators, interviews in depth, etc.
-Know qualitative research techniques
-Contribute to scientific publications
-Have a good command of digital skills

EMEDUS is an international project funded by the European Commission, which conducts a comparative analysis of media education in the 27 countries of the European Union.
