JRE Section CFP- 2013 The Journalism Research & Education Section invites submissions for its open sessions at the IAMCR that will be held from June 25-29 at the Dublin City University in Ireland. Find out more »Young Journalists’ and Researchers’ Workshop of Media and Information Literacy
In line with UNESCO’s policy to spread media and information literacy (MIL) globally, a workshop was organized in collaboration with Cairo University for young journalists, information specialists and researchers. The workshop was initially planned for 25 persons, but because of the high demand from the target audiences, the workshop was organized for 65 persons, males and females from different parts of the Arab World. We also had two trainees from Afghanistan and Ghana.
Find out more »Global Forum for Partnerships on Media and Information Literacy in Nigeria
UNESCO has been working for over 40 years in the field of media and information literacy (MIL). Part of its strategy involves creating partnerships necessary to amplify the impact of MIL. To this end, UNESCO will launch the Global Forum for Partnership on MIL (GFPMIL), which will be held in Nigeria (tentative dates: 26-28 June 2013 ).

THE YOUNGEST FILM FESTIVAL OF TURKEY – TISFEST
TISFEST is a film festival with a wide program and a short film contest for TEEN filmmakers. There are no restrictions of theme or subject in this contest but the only necessity is that the contenders have to be between 13-19 years old. The deadline for the TISFEST contest is 14th December. Grand Prize is 1000 Euros, Second Prize is 750 and Third Prize is 500 Euros. There will also be masterclasses open to all participation between February 5th-9th, 2013. Famous faces from Turkey and abroad will attend these sessions and young filmmakers will have the chance to talk to, share ideas with and get assistance from them. Marking the 10th anniversary of the adoption of the Plan of Action of the World Summit on the Information Society, UNESCO, in cooperation with ITU, UNDP and UNCTAD, hosts in 2013 the first WSIS+10 Review meeting, in which world leaders, along with high-level participants from governments, the private sector, NGOs and other groups, to assess progress made and future ICT trends, which will impact all spheres of societies. It is also envisaged that the Conference will result in post-2015 recommendations.
