CFP: Preconference, Media Education Futures

Call for papers:
Media Education Futures / Preconference PhD Workshop 7th May 2014.
The International Conference on Media Education Futures examines media literacies and education from various perspectives. The conference highlights participation, well-being and citizenships as the current Nordic perspectives in media education and discusses media and information literacies contributing to inter-cultural dialogue globally. The goal is to display and promote research in the field along with the practices of media education.
The one day workshop on 7th May 2014 takes place one day before the main conference days. The workshop will consist of PhD-students presentations about their research, comments and discussion. Students will receive comments for their research from professors and have an opportunity for networking. The workshop will be conducted in English.

Deadline for submission of abstracts: November 30, 2013
Notification of acceptance: February 10, 2014
Abstract submission:
Abstract
To propose a paper, please send approximately 500 word abstract. Make sure that the abstract includes description of the research project, phase of the research, to which University the dissertation will be delivered and name(s) of the supervisor(s).
CV (max. 2 pages)
Make sure that the CV includes a short description of your academic career, beginning of the doctoral studies, possibly publications, international experience.

Registration fee:
Students 0€. 50€ student registration fee includes participation to main conference on both days. The main conference Media Education Futures will be held 8th and 9th May, the student fee for this conference is 50€. The fee includes conference folder, coffee breaks, 2 x lunch, and social programme.
