当代视觉文化遇到的一个前设性问题便是语言文字与图像的关系问题,对语言文字中形象的解读是经过二度转换的,表述者将体悟到的现实形象转为文字表达,而读者又需要对语言文字进行转换,解读其背后的形象。而图像能被直接感知,感知瞬间可形成关于对象的整体印象。重要的一点是,视觉化并不是取代语言的话语,而是使之更容易理解,更快和更有效。视觉图像与语言文字之间的冲突与互补,开辟了人类思维和交往的新时代——图文时代。
